Case Studies
Building Use: Polymer Factory
Client: Flow Polymers
Cleveland, OH
Project Scope
- Install 37 (19’ x 11’) Windows
- Add 3 XL Vents per Window
- Aluminum Trim Coil at Top of the Windows
- 2 Phases
5 DaysActual Length of the Job
10 DaysScheduled for the Job
Notes: We brought a 12-man crew out to this job and worked hard to get this job done ahead of schedule for this customer. They had heavy machinery going through some of these windows, and half of the building had a dropoff onto gravel and a railroad construction project on the same area that needed to be navigated. The job turned out great, and the customers love the transformation of their building.

Building Use: Synagogue – Windows for Main Sanctuary
Client: Beth Israel Temple West
Cleveland, OH

- Replace 6 Roof Windows
- Window Size: 9’x4’
1 DayActual Length of the Job
3 DaysScheduled for the Job
Notes: We got this entire job done in 1 day, start to finish. Everything went smoothly, and the customers love the new windows.

Building Use: A Home Services Company Warehouse
Client: M & G Pools
Twinsburg, OH
Project Scope
- Remove Existing Boarding
- Install 10 Large (11’x5’) Block Windows
- Add 2 Small (2’x4’) Block Windows
5 DaysActual Length of the Job
5 DaysScheduled for the Job
Notes: We knew we were running up against the timeline we gave the customer, so on the final day of the project we stayed out there until 7:30 pm while it was snowing to get the job done on time as promised. While we installed the windows, we helped the customer with some additional masonry repairs on his building exterior free of charge to prevent potential water damage to the structure of his buildings.

Why commercial properties use glass block
- Aesthetics: a great first impression for your business on the exterior, bright natural light on the interior
- Thick, heavy masonry bonded into the opening
- Replacing failed single-pane or steel-sash openings with mortared glass block cuts heat loss, and owners see the difference in utility costs.
- Durability backed by a lifetime workmanship warranty
- Serviceability: depending on the damage and assembly, an individual 8”x8” glass block can often be replaced without replacing the entire 4’x8’ opening
A Different Commercial Window Contractor
Once we agree on a price and a scope, that price holds for that scope. Work you add and concealed conditions are priced by written change order before anything proceeds. ALL labor, materials, equipment rental, debris disposal, and warranty for the agreed scope are included.

Commercial window replacement in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati
Glass Block HQ serves commercial projects in the Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati metro areas.
Projects range from a single commercial opening to multi-window buildings. Start with an exterior review of the existing windows and problem areas so your team has a practical budget range to discuss.
Free exterior condition assessment — photos, problem areas, budget range
We’ll review the outside of the building, document photos and problem areas, and give you a budget range your facilities team, property owner or committee can use to discuss scope and phasing.
It is a visual exterior review with a planning budget range — not an engineering, code, or security inspection, and not a fixed quote.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are glass block windows actually secure?
Mortared glass block has no frame to pry and no pane to quietly knock out. Break-ins take the easiest opening, and mortared glass block removes yours from that list.
Should glass block use mortar or silicone?
Silicone between blocks is standard practice. Glass Block HQ mortars the panel perimeter into the opening. Some installers seal that perimeter with caulk instead. Ask any installer how the perimeter is attached and what maintains it.
Can you install glass block in winter?
Cold-weather mortar additives let us install through Ohio winters when conditions and the product’s written requirements allow; weather can move a date.
How do I clean glass block windows?
Soap and water. Since there are no tracks, sills, or moving parts to collect dirt, you simply wipe the face of the glass. High-pressure spraying is not recommended as it can damage mortar joints over time.
What is the Glass Block HQ warranty?
All Glass Block HQ installations come with a lifetime workmanship warranty. Manufacturer material warranties depend on the product selected. The written warranty states the full terms.
